Woo-hoo!

I have lots of free time on my hands for the next week and a half before I go home for my second spring break of the semester. I had to go to a place in town that could potentially be considered educational today to create lesson plans for the rest of the student teachers who do not have the luxury of having this time off. I went to an arts garden and wandered around outside, freezing the whole time. I then went on a few other errands, trying to convince myself that I should run because there is supposed to be a winter storm tonight so I probably really won't want to go tomorrow. I decided to motivate myself by buying a hat to run in the cold with, and it worked.

I ran the same route I did yesterday, but added an extra .2 miles on in the middle. As I walked back, I thought I was walking too slowly, so walked more quickly, and did my 4.8 miles in the same amount of time that I did the 4.6 yesterday. I'm so proud of myself. Plus, it was cold out. Even more of a reason to be excited. The stats for the day:

Distance: About 4.8 miles
Time: 75 minutes
Cloudy and cold 2:15
Temperature: 39 degrees Fahrenheit
Humidity: 49%
Visibility: 10 Miles
Wind: from the ENE at 17 mph

Back to School

After being in sunny Florida for a week, I'm back at school. I had an amazing week and became closer to some awesome people. One of the highlights of my week had to be my first night home and spending hours with one of my friends and two friends of my brother's. I've never spent much happy time with them, so it was a nice change, and I'm looking forward to getting to know them better.

One of my main reasons for starting this is to keep a personal log of my exercise, but also to comment on how I'm doing. I've committed to doing a one mile run/walk with a HUGE group of people, and want to be able to say that I can run it even though I may walk. I went on a nice walk/run today, and ran for 20 minutes and then kept walking for 55 because I was talking to a really awesome person on the phone. While I felt kind of dumb to be talking on the phone and exercising at the same time, it was really relaxing, and something I really needed. I'm also going to steal her idea for posting what exercise I've done, so here it is:

Distance: about 4.6 miles
Time: 75 minutes
Sunny and cold 5:30
Temperature: about 43
Humidity: 41%
Visibility: 10 Miles
